The Soul Transit Authority is a Motown and Jazz band. Their extensive repertoire ranges from easy listening to Jazz standards to Soul to classic dance music. The current lineup has been in place for over 3 years and encompasses a wealth of experienced players. Such a wide range of music and high degree of professionalism allows the band great flexibility, making your event a success.

Al Ponton ~ Saxophone and leader with 45 years in the music industry
Booty Brown ~ Soul singer extraordinaire
Joe Tucker ~ Piano and Congas. Joe has mastered many instruments and is a well known instructor in the area
Steve Baber ~ versatile on the Trumpet and Piano
Dale Woolum ~ expert bassist
Ron Newsome ~ drummer with that great Motown backbeat
Steve Pollack ~ master guitar player, providing those great dance rhythms
Scott Devoe ~ keyboard. Scott is a music instructor at University of Virginia music department.
