Robert Jospe’ Express

Drummer Robert Jospé released a double CD with his new band Robert Jospé Express. Recording as a trio on Classics and as a quartet on Doin’ It Up, Jospé explores each project with a different focus.
Classics features Butch Taylor on keyboards, Dane Alderson on bass and Jospé on drum set playing seven classic jazz compositions that include “Autumn Leaves”, “Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise”, and “Tenor Madness”, with an infectious mix of styles from straight ahead to Latin and fusion.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhqTfv86Gbs
Doin’ It Up adds guitarist Brian Mesko to the band for seven funky, jammin’, grooving originals, jazz, rock and pop tunes in a repertoire that includes Sting, Lennon /McCartney, and Herbie Hancock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIEoPxquyZI
Jospé, nationally known for his previous CDs, received two four star reviews in Downbeat Magazine and was featured in Modern Drummer and Jazztimes Magazine, formed Express with his longtime friend Taylor who played and recorded with the Dave Matthews band for over ten years. Alderson, who recently moved to Virginia from Australia, brings virtuosity and lyricism on the bass and Mesko adds a rock and funk edge to the band.
