Duke Merrick- Guitars, Harmonicas, Lead Vocals
Duke began his musical odyssey at the tender age of ten when he set up a make-believe recording studio and began entertaining his family. By twelve he had formed his first real band. He made his first journey to Nashville as a student at Vanderbilt University where he hit the
books by day and the honky-tonks by night. It was during this time that Duke began to learn the craft of songwriting and forged some of
his closest music industry ties. After his time at Vanderbilt he considered a business career in the record industry on Music Row.
He learned however that it was the creative and performance side of music that he loved and he returned to his family farm in Gordonsville
to write, perform and tend to the family business. Nashville did lure Duke back produce an album some years later with his great friends:
producer Glen Rieuf and singer/songwriter Pat McLaughlin. Cuts from Duke’s Burning Memories album were picked up by artists like
Joy White, Joe Sun, Jo-El Sonnier and Steve Wariner. Duke has continued to manage his family farm as well as his own farm and Real
Estate business, both of which he shares with his wife Sharon in Gordonsville. He has continued to hone his songwriting skills and
kept his band together touring regionally with an occasional “special” tour around the United States and abroad.

Alan Hoffman- Guitars, Vocals
Alan Hoffman, guitar and vocals, is an original and founding member of the Duke Merrick Band. A collaboration which formed as a duo in 1980, continues nearly 30 yrs later. After playing in rock and soul bands through high school and college, Hoffman started a professionalmusical career in the 70's Austin music scene extensively touring Texas and the Southwest. Years later found him
back in his hometown of Charlottesville being an integral part of such known local bands as Shenandoah and HartwellWoody. After a brief stay in Nashville, Alan moved back home to Virginia where he rejoined his old partner Duke and continues to perform. Over the years, he has shared the stage and been in opening acts for such artists as The Byrds, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Conway Twitty, Earl Scruggs, Tom. T Hall, DelbertMc Clinton, Diamond Rio, Asleep at the Wheel, and on. Alan and family now reside in Staunton, Va.

Jim Taggart- Mandolin, Fiddle, Guitars, Vocals
Jim began working with various Bluegrass groups around central Virginia as a young boy. As a founding member of the Duke Merrick Band he spent many of his weekends, during his years at VMI, performing with Duke and the boys at ski resorts, clubs and private functions around Virginia. Since then, he has worked with various groups around Virginia and including the Terri Allard Band (of which he is still a member). Jim and his wife Paula have two sons each of whom is carving his own niche in music. Jim is a Professional Engineer and is the managing partner of TCS Engineering Co. LLC. He and his family live in Faber, Virginia.

Ronnie Davis-Acoustic Upright Bass, Vocals
Hailing originally from Earlysville, VA., now makes his home in Louisa, VA. with wife, Sherri and sons, Jason, Jerry, Tyler and twins, Colby and Chase. Early on, he cut his musical teeth on bluegrass, playing in numerous local bands until, in 1992, he landed a
job with bluegrass legend Charlie Waller and his Country Gentlemen. The stint with this group lasted 9 plus years and included tours of Japan, England, Canada and the US. Since leaving the Country Gentlemen he has taken a break from the road playing with
several local groups until joining the Duke Merrick Band. His interests include baseball, fishing and hunting. Currently he owns/operates an entertainment booking agency, D Sharp Entertainment.
