C'ville String Quartet was formed ten years ago in Oklahoma City with musicians from the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. In 2005, Marco Escobar, the first violinist and music director of the quartet, settled in Charlottesville and wanted to bring the culture of chamber music to this charming city. Although the members of the quartet are not the same as they were before, we have the privilege to perform with outstanding professional string players in the quartet. Today, the members of the quartet perform with the Roanoke Symphony, Richmond Symphony, and the Charlottesville Chamber Orchestra as well as being active faculty members in the music departments at UVA and EMU. They have played in numerous weddings and receptions in the areas of Charlottesville, Wintergreen, Staunton, Culpeper, and other cities in Virginia. They have a large repertoire of music including wedding, classical, blues, Christmas, and popular music.
